Bridgette Yaxley / Founder / CEO

Upgrade Your Career

For over a decade, Bridgette Yaxley has served as an exemplary educator and Instructional Designer in both public schools, and at the college and university level.

While teaching in public schools, Bridgette designed curriculum to prepare students for ELA standardized testing by utilizing various instructional technologies. This experimental curriculum was the primary focus of Bridgette’s MS degree in Education in English, and formally adopted by the BOE at the school district where she tested it.

While teaching at the university level since 2005, Bridgette has designed her own online teaching curriculum, become fluent in learning management systems, and has taught multiple online courses. She has also served on numerous digital and online learning committees at the public school and university level to evaluate trends and research ongoing changes in this discipline.

As an Instructional Designer, Bridgette has been training and mentoring teaching faculty since 2002 in online learning solutions, learner-centered online teaching practices, online course design, instructional technologies, and online teaching curriculum development. Bridgette is fluent in multiple learning management systems, adult learning theories, instructional technology theories (i.e. SAM, ADDIE), Backwards Design theory and several online learning theories.

Since the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic began, Bridgette’s expertise in e-learning solutions have been highly sought after by academic institutions, as well as by teaching faculty for individual mentorships. During these unprecedented times, Bridgette has provided training on remote teaching, developing synchronous and asynchronous courses, hybrid, hyflex and web-enhanced classes, all while maintaining a learner-centered online learning environment in these modalities.

Bridgette Yaxley earned a Masters degree in Education in English from SUNY College at Brockport, where her thesis research focused on how to use instructional technologies to prepare middle school students to take ELA standardized state assessments. Bridgette also earned a Masters degree in Education, majoring in Teaching & Curriculum, from the University of Rochester, where her thesis research focused on how to alleviate concerns while training faculty in online course design. Bridgette served as an e-intern twice in the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Education & Cultural Affairs program (Virtual Student Foreign Services) researching ways to utilize online learning to increase international student populations at American higher education institutions through scholarship programs. Both internships and Bridgette’s level of dedication were commended by the U.S. Secretary of State with signed certificates.

Bridgette is now ABD completing her Ed.D. in Instructional Technologies at American College of Education.

Bridgette is also a multi-award-winning professional screenwriter, producer and director. She has earned multiple nominations for screenplays she has written, and awards for Best Original Screenplay at The Burbank International Film Festival (2018), Best Comedy Screenplay at the Los Angeles International Film Festival (2020), and Official Selection at many other prestigious film festivals from NYC to Orlando and in Hollywood. Bridgette is also the Founder and CEO of Trailblazing Female Productions where her experience in digital media, screenwriting and cinematic production has paired seamlessly.

Why Do Our Students *Love* Us?

Bridgette was a tremendous help to her colleagues when we suddenly had to convert to online classes in Spring, 2020. In addition to her specialized technical knowledge and her awareness of excellent classroom practices, she also developed a highly organized method for teaching us how to use online tools effectively. Thanks to her hard work, her skill set, and her calm and encouraging demeanor, many of us were able to make a speedy transition from in-person to online classes under very stressful circumstances. She continues to provide accurate instruction and great advice on the intricacies of online instruction from instructional design through the creative and correct use of PowerPoint, YouTube, and other platforms to deliver effective teaching..
